Butterfly Stone Crop

Today a headshot of ‘Butterfly Stone Crop’ blossoms. This plant is called in Austria also ‘Fette Henne’. It’s rather modest and unremarkable green during the year, but at the end of summer it starts blooming and transforms from the ‘ugly duckling’ into a ‘white swan’!

By the way, it’s also very attractive to bees and butterflies. Today I counted 15 bees on just one plant ;)

As you may noticed it got silent over the last four weeks on lensblues.com. I’ve been too busy walking the camera so I couldn’t get usable material. But the good news is – I’m back again ;)

Lets start with some more macro-work. I think I got a usable macro-setup including the Olympus flash now. I’ll do some more testing and will post the information here some time soon.

I wasn’t able to find out the name of this beautiful flower yet so I call it the ‘Unknown Beauty’ ;)

I’m doing some macro-work at the moment based on the Oly 60mm 1:2.8 Macro and the Oly flash connected by a cable. Most of the time my results are terrible but sometimes I succeed ;)

I snapped this ‘rather small guy’ sitting on a flower in the evening. It’s body length is about 8mm, so I think the Olympus macro did a rather good job!

Last friday we went to my sister’s house to celebrate my nephews birthday. He lost all hope to get a new bike this year so I’m sure you can imagine the look on his face as he got exactly the bike he wished for :)

By the way – we’ve been under strictly observation of ‘Luzy’, the ‘family dog’ ;)
