It’s called a ‘Fiaker’ (horses and carriage) and it’s not unusual to meet on Vienna’s first district streets. The horses are surprisingly cool at finding their way between all the cars!

The Hundertwasserhaus is an apartment house in Vienna built after the idea and concept of the famous Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. At the main floor there is a cafe and I can remember that I met the master there about 17 years before. He was sitting at a small table scribbling down some art in his sketch-pad without taking any note of the world arround him. Hm .. how time flies :|

We’ve a big dove-problem here in Vienna. The population of the birds is growing uncontrolled and the pigeon droppings are destroying the surface of many old buildings and places. The pigeons are opportunistic feeders so the have access to an endless flow of food in the ‘urban jungle’ and in addition they get feed by local ‘pet lovers’. The food that isn’t consumed by the doves gets consumed by all other animals living in our streets by night – mostly rats :|
Government tries to stop this extra feeding by a campaign the snapped poster is part of showing the ‘photoshoped’ image of a pigeon-rat. The writing says:” Who feeds doves – feeds rats!” and promises a 36 Euro penalty for people who can’t read ;)
Hope this will help, Yours Andrews >:o)
